Peter Frank

Baritone

Short Biography

Peter Frank, born 1963 in Hannover, studied at the University for Music Hannover and concluded with degrees in music education, as singing teacher and opera singer.

In 1989 he won a scholarship from Richard-Wagner-Verband. Since 1989 he has performed as lyric baritone in various operas, operettas and musicals among others at Staatstheater Oldenburg, Volkstheater Bautzen, TfN Niedersachsen, Staatstheater Hannover and Theater Brandenburg where he worked as permanent ensemble member from 1993 to 1999.

His repertoire includes Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Don Alfonso (Cosi fan Tutte), Figaro and Dr. Bartolo (Barbiere di Siviglia), Papageno (Magic Flute), Peter (Hänsel und Gretel), Silvio (I Pagliacci) and many more.

As concert singer he was touring with song programs and oratorios through Europe and the United States and took part in recordings for radio and CD among others with P. Herreweghe, G. Leonhard, S. Preston, G.A. Albrecht, H. Henning (EMI-Classics, THOROFON, Teldec).

He is the composer of the musicals „Der Graf von Gleichen“ (2006) and „Jesus-ganz.nah.dran“ (2013). His work as singing teacher has brought him to the music universities of Hannover (1995-2004), Würzburg (since 2004) and Weimar (2019).
